At Null-space we have developed a new way of delivering packages using fixed wing uavs. These drones are in a league of their own, and cannot be confused with the typical quadcopter creations you might see soaring overhead. Unlike quadcopters that have four slow-spinning blades, the fixed wing drone adopts an aerodynamic shape which allows it to fly more considerably faster and deliver your package.
Not only are fixed wing delivery drones designed for significantly higher speeds and longer-flight distances compared to other solutions, but their system naturally resembles more realistic airplane designs.
Fixed wing delivery drones have a similar take off and landing profile to that of an aircraft. That means they require a larger space for takeoffs and landings, so unlike quadcopter drones, they cannot simply float in place. These drones, however, due to their specialized design can fly faster and for longer distances. As such, these drones can be used to reach places that are harder to access when delivering packages like remote regions or rural surroundings.
Fixed wing delivery drones are known to be among the fastest of its kind and this is one of the biggest benefits you get with them. These are able to cover more distance in less time than a quadcopter drone. This speed is especially needed for transporting goods to remote areas where the destination has to be reached quickly. Moreover, these drones consume less energy. That is to say, they are more efficient with power and fly on less of it. They can also carry heavier packages for much longer distances, allowing businesses to make more deliveries in a given day—a win-win for all parties involved.
Once a package is set to be delivered, it will be loaded into the drone's cargo hold. The drone lifts off with the package and heads to its destination. When the drone turns up on the location where the package has to be delivered, it lowers its altitude and begins to come down from the sky. As it nears the drop-off location, the drone opens its cargo hold and gently releases your package. The drone lands when it arrives to deliver and then takes off again returning home. This allows it to prepare for the next delivery, thus allowing it always to be ready to assist.
They utilize complex technology to direct the drones with precision toward their destination. They use GPS, which reports with precision about their location. With this technology drones are able to fly extremely accurate. They're also clever enough to avoid objects in their way, so they are much safer to operate. This means that packages are delivered to the right place regardless of success and failure situations.
